The zipper allows baby to have his feet out too |
Last week I was contacted by a local mom-treprenuer who offered to let me try out her wearable blanket that is just coming on the market. Of course! Who doesn't like free stuff! A few days later a lovely package arrived in the mail, and thus began my love affair with the gunapod by gunamuna.
My first reaction to this amazing contraption was how luxe it was - it is made of the coziest blanket fabric I have ever felt in a baby product - like the wool of a baby sheep (not that I have ever actually felt a baby sheep but I imagine it to be this soft and wooly). I showed it to my husband and he said, "do they make this in adult sizes, because I want one."
The hook of the gunapod is that there are many ways to get your child out of it. Unlike other wearable blankets on the market, there is a zipper that goes all around the outside of the sack, from armpit to armpit, which allows you to change babies diaper much easier that usual. There are also snaps on each shoulder. I was intrigued as we had never used anything like this before, and I was even more interested to see M's reaction once she was wearing it.
M enjoying her gunapod |
The gunapod comes in 3 sizes: Small (3-9 months), Medium (9-18 months) and Large (18-24 months). We are using the large size, which we will be able to use for a long time as it is very room on M now. It is available for purchase at Bloomingdales in Chestnut Hill, MA, Hip Baby Gear in Marblehead, Wild Child in Arlington and all Magic Beans stores, as well as online.
And I will keep my fingers crossed in hopes of a Women's Large size coming soon! A girl can dream...
saw it at bloomies and loved the look of it. we have to wrestle with M to get him in his current sleep sack. think this one would be much better (and cozier)...
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of this sleep sack until now. It does look so cozy. I only ever had the thick flannel ones, and now my "baby" is almost two! This looks really cool I will have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with the review. I wish I'd had a gunapod for my older son and am hooked on it for my 4 month old. We put him in after his final bottle and sometimes he's nearly asleep. The full zipper and shoulder straps make it easy to get him in without waking him. He also likes to hold the fabric and cuddle it while he's sleeping.
ReplyDeleteFrom the Golden Triangle, we drove four hours south to Chiang Mai, via Wat Rong Khun, the White Temple, one of the most surreal places of worship I will ever see, a boggling mash up between Salvador Dali and Stan Lee. Outside, a pool of alabaster hands reach up as if from hell; inside, the walls are coated in movie motifs: Yoda, X Men, a Minion or two. Despite the pop art, this is a serious endeavour, a working buddhist temple designed by renowned Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat.
ReplyDeleteA lot of times when a task goes long, you have to clock out to go get food. This client just realized I been working for a long time and they brought me a sandwich. I dealt with a lot of really nice people doing TaskRabbit.. We Internet types are so busy haggling over t shirt design app video games with DRM that we're not grasping the scale of this. We're like a dog who's been cooped up behind a fence his whole life, and now a storm has knocked down the gate. The dog looks out and lil uzi vert shirt thinks, "Wow, out there is the front yard!".
